What is Juvederm® Voluma™ XC

Juvederm® Voluma™ XC is an injectable gel that is easily injected under the skin, and can be molded immediately after injection to achieve a natural shape of the cheeks. Voluma is formulated with hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body, but in lower concentrations. When injected into the skin, the gel provides immediate volume to the cheeks resulting in a more balanced, youthful contour. As Juvederm® Voluma™ XC is broken down by your body over time, the hyaluronic acid in this filler keeps attracting moisture to the area, which helps retain the improvements much longer.

What to Expect During Juvederm® Voluma™ XC Treatment

The doctor will first study your facial structure and create a custom treatment plan that will achieve improved volume with a natural, balanced contour. Topical anesthesia will be applied to the treatment area to maximize patient comfort. A small needle will then be used to inject the Juvederm® Voluma™ XC filler into your cheeks, and the doctor may massage and sculpt the filler once it is inside the cheeks, before it settles in. This will ensure that your cheeks have smooth transition lines from your temples and the areas under your eyes.
